Back in 1975, in Baltimore, Maryland, where our founder, Alexander Bouchard, was in college at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, he formed a production company for the films he was doing for his film classes. This first company, Rip Off Productions, was influenced slightly by the issues of Rip Off Comix (a notable underground comic book) he had seen while in high school the year before, but it soon metamorphed into Alexander Associates Film Works.

Through many changes of location and logo, and periods of pernicious inactivity, the guiding principle of the company, now known as Alexander Film Works has maintained itself with pinpoint focus and crystalline clarity: Make Movies That Don't Suck!

We're almost proud to say that we've fulfilled that principle, for the most part… and we hope plan to keep it up in the future.
